THE RISE AND FALL OF TOWERBLOCK1
THE RISE AND FALL OF TOWERBLOCK1,” the first art exhibition in Japan of radical and innovative artist Jimmy Coatee, a member of the British house unit The KLF and known as the man who burned a million pounds, was held in Tokyo.
The exhibition featured his recent masterpiece, “SMILEY RIOT SHIELDS,” as well as works that addressed politics, war, pandemics, and environmental issues, and objects created using everyday objects, such as safety cones, to create extraordinary objects.
The exhibition was supervised by Kosuke Kawamura, a world-renowned artist who professes to be a fan of Jimmy's work, and included collaborations with Kawamura and artist Cali DeWitt.
